Prince Harry has come under heavy criticism for his decision not to return to the UK for his uncle’s funeral later this month.
According to a report by *Newsweek*, concerns over security threats in Britain have likely led to the decision by the Duke of Sussex, with his team believing that the risks remain high.
Royal expert Afua Hagan voiced her disapproval of Harry’s choice, stating, “It’s a shame that he’s not attending the funeral of someone who was clearly close to him.”
Hagan added, “He may be thinking it’s best for him and William to avoid being in the same place at this time, given that their relationship has not yet been repaired and security concerns are still a significant issue affecting his life.”
She continued, “If he feels he can’t attend a funeral, I think that’s pretty sad actually.”
Expressing further disappointment, Hagan noted, “He’s clearly uncomfortable and unwilling to return to the UK in any capacity—even for a funeral—due to his serious concerns about security.”
