LAHORE: The Punjab Jails Department on Wednesday announced extensive appointments and transfers.
As part of the new Prison Reforms Policy, officers who have served in a jail for over three years are being transferred, with no transfers permitted within the first year of posting unless mandated by administrative needs.
The new orders include significant changes across various positions. Nazak Shahzad has been appointed Superintendent of Juvenile Jail Faisalabad, Malik Liaqat Ali will head Central Jail Mianwali, and Tipu Sultan is now Superintendent of Sub Jail Shujaabad.
Other notable appointments include Farrukh Sultan as Superintendent of District Jail Faisalabad, Ali Akbar as Superintendent of District Jail Jhang, and Aftab Ahmad as Additional Superintendent of Central Jail.
Further, Ali Ameer Shah takes on the role of Additional Superintendent at Central Jail Rawalpindi, while Syeda Ambar Naqvi has been named Lady Additional Superintendent at Central Jail Lahore.
Fareeha Ashraf will lead Women Jail Multan, and Bilqis Maryam is appointed Lady Deputy Superintendent at District Jail Gujarat. Samreen Akram is the new Lady Deputy Superintendent at Central Jail Sahiwal, and Kishore Naheed will serve as Lady Deputy Superintendent at Central Jail Gujranwala.
These changes reflect a major reform initiative intended to enhance the efficiency and management of PunjabÃs prison system.
