Kundi urges SNGPL to enhance gas supply in KP ahead of winter

LAHORE: Governor of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Faisal Karim Kundi has urged the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) to implement measures to address gas load-shedding in the province, particularly ahead of the winter season.

During a meeting with Acting Managing Director Arbab Saqib at the Punjab Governor’s House, Governor Kundi voiced concerns about the declining gas pressure during the colder months and demanded solutions for issues related to the town border station (TBS) that affect gas pressure and volume.

Arbab Saqib, the acting MD, updated Governor Kundi on the initiatives underway to resolve the difficulties faced by KP consumers.

He outlined several ongoing projects aimed at improving gas supply infrastructure, including the extension of the gas pipeline in Dera Ismail Khan, and upcoming projects in Kotla Syedan and other regions.

Furthermore, Saqib informed the governor about the commencement of gas supply from the Kot Palak reserves to Tehsil Headquarters Drabun, and detailed the progress on the Shiva gas pipeline.

Efforts to integrate the Kot Palak gas reserves with the national gas pipeline to enhance supply in the Kot Drabun area of DI Khan are also progressing well.

The meeting also touched upon developments at the Shiva and Bettani oil fields, emphasizing a comprehensive approach to energy solutions in the region.
