Viral indifference

The bystander effect is often seen on the roads when people not directly involved in emergency or accidental situations simply watch and make videos without offering help to the victims. This is a very irresponsible attitude, which has become very common these days. For example, if someone catches fire, people are more likely to simply stand by and make videos, while others run away to save their own lives, thinking that their lives are more valuable than that of others.

As a responsible citizen, it is our duty to help others in need. We should not wait for others to come and seek help. We should take the initiative ourselves. If we cannot offer help, we should at least inform the authorities, such as the police or some rapid-response organisation.

Recently, in the Srikhan village, a truck driver was seen caught in a blaze, but the onlookers were just watching and did nothing to help. This was a seriously dis- gusting attitude. It is our responsibility and utmost duty to help our fellow human beings in need instead of standing nearby to shoot videos or running to save our own lives. In doing so, we might miss the chance of saving a precious human life.
