CTD nabs banned outfit member, seizes explosives and hate literature

SAHIWAL: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) successfully arrested a terrorist affiliated with a banned organization during an operation near the Bypass in Sahiwal on Thursday.

According to CTD officials, the terrorist, a member of the Zenbayun Brigade, was apprehended with explosives, a detonator, a Prima card, a battery, and a circuit in his possession.

This arrest follows another operation on September 4, when the CTD apprehended a terrorist identified as Aman Ullah, who belongs to the banned group Fitna Alkhwarij. During that operation, the CTD recovered hate-inciting literature and extremist books, and a case has been registered against Aman Ullah.

In a separate development, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Razmak area of North Waziristan, killing three terrorists affiliated with an outlawed group. According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists, linked to the Khawarij group, were involved in targeted killings of both security personnel and civilians.

The operation resulted in a firefight, during which three terrorists were killed and one was injured. A large cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the scene.

The ISPR reaffirmed the security forces’ commitment to eliminating terrorism and combating Khawarij extremists from the country.
