Punjab police arrest key Indhar gang member in Katcha operation

LAHORE: Punjab Police in Rahim Yar Khan have arrested Nukhaf Dashti, an active member of the Tanveer Indhar Gang, during an intelligence-based operation in the Katcha area of Bhong. The suspect was found injured during the raid.

According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, the operation took place after receiving information about armed criminals at Fayyaz Bagh in the Qadirpur area. Upon raiding the site, the suspects opened heavy fire on the police.

In the ensuing crossfire, Dashti was injured by his accomplices’ gunfire and subsequently arrested, while other gang members managed to escape.

Nukhaf Dashti is reportedly a close associate of Moorzada Dashti and the notorious dacoit Shehzada Dashti, who was killed in a previous police operation.

Dashti has a criminal record, including charges of murder, robbery, and firing on police, and was wanted in several cases. A Kalashnikov was recovered from his possession.

Punjab IG Police Dr. Usman Anwar praised DPO Rahim Yar Khan Rizwan Umar Gondal and his team for the successful operation and directed them to pursue and arrest the fleeing suspects. A search operation, led by SHO Bhong and the CIA team Sadiqabad, is underway to capture the remaining criminals.
