Drug Paraphernalia Found in Liam Payne’s Hotel Room After His Tragic Death

La Nacion, Argentina’s leading newspaper, confirmed that Payne’s room on the third floor of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel was in disarray, with a broken television, a champagne glass, and various substances including foil and powder spread across the room. A desk displayed an empty Dove soap packet, a burning candle, the top of a burnt soda can, and a piece of aluminum foil. Authorities noted traces of a white powder on some of these items, suspected to be cocaine, which is pending laboratory testing for confirmation.

The situation in the bathroom was similarly concerning, with remnants of wax and burnt foil found in the bathtub.

On the day of his death, the Buenos Aires police reported that Payne, 31, sustained severe injuries from the fall, including a fractured skull, which led to his immediate death at the scene. Alberto Crescenti, director of Buenos Aires medical services, confirmed the nature of the injuries.

According to Pablo Policicchio, spokesperson for the Security Ministry of Buenos Aires, the police were called to the hotel before the incident due to reports of an “aggressive man” who might have been under the influence. Witnesses said Payne had destroyed his laptop and was physically carried back to his room shortly before his death. Soon after, hotel staff heard a thud and discovered Payne’s body in the courtyard.

Payne, who arrived in Argentina on September 30 with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, had checked into the hotel alone after Cassidy left the country two days prior to the incident.

The music community and fans worldwide have been mourning the loss of Payne. Paris Hilton expressed her sorrow on social media, stating, “So upsetting to hear the news of @LiamPayne passing. Sending love and condolences to his family & loved ones. RIP my friend.” Similarly, Zedd, a former collaborator, and rapper Juicy J shared their heartfelt tributes, reflecting the shock and sadness felt by many.

Liam Payne leaves behind a 7-year-old son, Bear Grey, with his ex-partner Cheryl Cole.
