Robbers open fire on passenger coach in Bannu, 10 injured in attack

BANNU: A passenger coach traveling from Islamabad to Bannu was attacked by robbers near Dara Tang early Tuesday morning, leaving at least 10 passengers injured.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. when armed men attempted to stop the bus. Upon the driver’s refusal to halt, the attackers opened fire on the vehicle.

The injured passengers were quickly taken to a local hospital in Lakki Marwat for medical treatment. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

This comes shortly after a similar shooting earlier this month on the Indus Highway near Naper Kot, where robbers fired on another passenger coach, resulting in the death of one passenger and injuries to three others.

Following the attack, passengers staged a protest on the highway, causing traffic disruptions, while the gunmen fled to rural areas.

In another separate incident, on October 10, a car crash on the M-9 Motorway near Bolari claimed the lives of three people when a tire burst caused the vehicle to overturn and catch fire. Two women and one man were killed in the accident.
