Punjab, Belarus agree to establish tractor assembling plant

  • CM Maryam Nawaz meets Belarus Ambassador, discusses promotion of bilateral relations

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Belarus Ambassador H.E Andrei N. Metelitsa on Wednesday agreed to establish assembling plant for manufacturing of tractors in Punjab with the cooperation of Belarus.

Belarus Ambassador Andrey Matilissa called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to discuss promotion of bilateral relations, especially cooperation in the development of agriculture, trade and tourism sectors. Belarus Trade Consul Ilya Qanapalu was also present on the occasion.

On the occasion, Belarusian envoy also offered the Punjab government support for electric bus project in the province.

On the occasion, the Punjab CM said the provincial government was providing incentives and facilities to foreign investors, asserting that her government was keen to promote cooperation with Belarus in agriculture and other sectors.

She said the Punjab government wanted to benefit from the experience of Belarus in the production of agricultural machinery, especially tractors. Maryam Nawaz said Pakistan and Belarus want to increase mutual relations especially in trade.

The Belarusian Ambassador said a transit route for trade and trade corridors through roads will be welcome step for the region. On the occasion, Andrey Matilesa also met with the Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Transport, Secretary Transport and President Bank of Punjab to determine the road map for the promotion of bilateral trade.

CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Visits PIC Lahore

“Take administrative measures on war footing to improve treatment condition and quality in PIC,” Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed the authorities concerned during her visit to Punjab Institute of Cardiology Lahore.

As soon as the patient saw Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in the air ambulance patient ward, who was shifted from Bahawalpur to Lahore saluted and offered a lot of prayers to the chief minister.

CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif also inquired after the patient Amjad Ali and prayed for his complete recovery who was shifted to PIC by Air Ambulance from Bahawalpur. Heart patient Amjad Ali saluted Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on the launch of Air Ambulance Service and appreciated the Air Ambulance Service. She also directed them for the completion of PIC 2 at the earliest to reduce rush of patients in PIC. She said, “Immediately appoint Administrative Head in PIC-2, because people cannot be left at the mercy of mafias.”

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed for the immediate treatment of Khushi Muhammad, another elderly patient. She expressed displeasure for not providing an emergency wheelchair immediately to the elderly patient. She later visited the elderly patient Khushi Muhammad in the ward and witnessed the treatment herself. She strictly stopped the security personnel from interfering in the movement of patients.

Earlier, Executive Director PIC gave a detailed briefing to Madam Chief Minister on revamping plan and other issues of the hospital. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed the hospital management to take strict action against the corrupt elements who are causing trouble for the people.
