Pakistan and Azerbaijan explore stronger ties at Istanbul Expo

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Interior Minister and Head of Anti-Narcotics, Mohsin Naqvi, met with Azerbaijan’s Minister of State for Internal Affairs, Ismat Rashid Aliyev, on Thursday during the Istanbul International Expo in Turkey.

The two leaders discussed ways to enhance the long-standing ties between their nations, focusing on security, economic collaboration, and cultural exchanges.

They also highlighted Pakistan Navy’s recent successful operation, seizing over 2,400 kg of narcotics worth $145 million. Aliyev praised Pakistan’s anti-narcotics efforts and stressed the importance of joint collaboration in combating regional threats like drug trafficking and terrorism.

Both ministers agreed to explore further cooperation in defense, border management, and human trafficking prevention. Naqvi invited Aliyev to visit Pakistan, while Aliyev extended a similar invitation to Baku, emphasizing continued collaboration.
