LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan leader Hafiz Naeemur Rehman emphasized that Kashmir’s liberation cannot be achieved through slogans and advertisements, advocating instead for a path of jihad.
Speaking to an audience at Mansorah in Lahore, Hafiz Naeem urged supporters to commit their resources and lives in the pursuit of change.
Referring to sacrifices made for both the Palestinian and Kashmiri causes, he noted Syed Ali Gilani’s long imprisonment as a testament to the struggle for Kashmir’s independence. Hafiz Naeem also mentioned the recent loss of Ismail Haniyeh’s family, expressing hope that such sacrifices would bring a new era of resilience and eventual freedom for Palestine.
Hafiz Naeem criticized the government for what he described as superficial gestures on Kashmir Black Day, insisting that Kashmir’s freedom requires decisive action. “Rights cannot be granted to Kashmiris through phone messages; Kashmir will only be freed through jihad. If dialogue were the solution, the issue would have been resolved long ago,” he said.
He further urged both government and military leaders to clarify their stance on Kashmir, calling for transparency regarding past compromises on Kashmir’s special status. Hafiz Naeem questioned Nawaz Sharif’s emphasis on strengthening ties with India without addressing Kashmir’s autonomy and advocated for a stronger alliance with Afghanistan instead.
