Vice President Kamala Harris’s recent appearance on NBC’s Saturday Night Live has ignited controversy, with critics accusing her of flouting election rules. The 90-second skit, which aired over the weekend, drew sharp criticism from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). FCC Chief stated that Harris’s involvement in the show demonstrated a “clear and blatant” disregard for the agency’s guidelines on political broadcasting.
Harris joined SNL alongside comedian Maya Rudolph, who famously portrays her on the show. In a humorous twist, the vice president played herself as the mirror image of Rudolph’s character. At one point in the skit, Harris warmly addressed her doppelgänger, saying, “It is nice to see you, Kamala,” and offering a reassuring, “And I’m just here to remind you, you got this.”
The brief appearance has since sparked a heated debate over potential media bias and the boundaries of election-related entertainment on public airwaves.
