Randi Mahomes, mother of NFL star Patrick Mahomes, made her political stance clear at Monday night’s Kansas City Chiefs game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In a VIP suite at Arrowhead Stadium, she sported a red “Make America Great Again” hat, signaling her support for Republican candidate Donald Trump in the upcoming 2024 election. In a video posted on X by OutKick, Randi enthusiastically cheered, “Make America great again. Let’s do it. Woo!” as she stood proudly in her red Chiefs sweater.
This public endorsement aligns with the political leanings of her daughter-in-law, Brittany Mahomes. In August, Brittany, a 29-year-old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, drew attention for liking one of Trump’s social media posts, leading to some online backlash. Responding on Instagram, Brittany defended herself against critics, suggesting they had unresolved issues fueling their negativity. Trump, in turn, praised Brittany for her “strong defense” of him, calling her and Patrick a “great couple.”
Despite his family’s visible support for Trump, Patrick Mahomes has been clear about keeping his own political views private. Speaking at a press conference, the Super Bowl champion emphasized that his platform is not for endorsing candidates but for encouraging voter engagement. “I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote… do their own research and make the best decision for them and their family,” he said, adding that he doesn’t focus on political views when spending time with others.
While Patrick has stayed neutral, his mother and wife’s public endorsements indicate where they stand as the 2024 election approaches.
