Hollywood actress Anya Taylor-Joy and her husband, musician Malcolm McRae, were victims of a burglary at a mansion in north London, The Standard reports. The incident occurred on February 12, 2023, when two masked intruders allegedly shattered glass to break into the property, attempting to enter the bedroom where Taylor-Joy and McRae were located. McRae’s bandmate, Kane Ritchotte, was also present in the home at the time.
The main suspect, 42-year-old Kirk Holdrick, is currently on remand at Gartree Prison in Leicestershire, awaiting trial after pleading not guilty to burglary charges. Holdrick’s case is scheduled for trial in September 2025 at Wood Green Crown Court in London. Judge Kalyani Kaul KC recently lifted a reporting restriction, enabling The Standard to share more details about the case publicly.
Although shaken, Taylor-Joy and the other occupants were unharmed during the break-in. The mansion, reportedly owned by a prominent public figure whose identity remains confidential, is not the couple’s permanent residence.
Anya Taylor-Joy, recognized as a rising star in Hollywood, gained fame with her breakout role in The Witch (2015) and has since starred in acclaimed projects like Split, The Queen’s Gambit, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Dune: Part Two.
