- Punjab CM says interest-free loans to be provided to 80,000 farmers at the rate of Rs27,000 per animal
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday declared that the Punjab’s first unique Livestock Card would be launched on December 15, directing the authorities concerned to finalize all-out preparations to the ‘unique initiative’ that would revolutionise lives of the livestock farmers.
She added, “Punjab Farmers will be on the path of development and progress after the launch of this unprecedented project.” She highlighted that registration for the Chief Minister Livestock Card has started, which would benefit 80,000 farmers across Punjab.
The Punjab CM said, “Through the CM Livestock Card, one can purchase ‘Wanda’, mineral mixture and silage from registered dealers.” She added, “Cattle farmers will be able to get an interest-free loan of Rs27,000 per animal.” She underscored, “They will be able to get an interest-free loan of up to Rs2,70,000 for their cattle.”
CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that livestock farmers will get loan in four months equal instalments. Payment of loan will start after 04 months.” She added,” Livestock farmers can register for the said card by visiting the nearest veterinary hospital.” She emphasized that a message for the purpose can be sent to 8070 with PLC and ID card number of the farmer, adding that A Helpline 0800-09211 has also been activated for the convenience of potential applicants.”
The Chief Minister said,”All measures are being taken for the economic independence of every farmer living in villages of Punjab.” She added,” We will fully support the farmers and cattle growers of Punjab.” She noted, “The journey of development has started. We will make everybody its stakeholder.”
Message on International Day for Preventing Exploitation of Environment in War and Armed Conflict
“War and conflicts cause a loss of not only human lives but also of the precious environment,” said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in her message on International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict. She added, “In Gaza and other areas, not only people, but the environment are being destroyed by the war.” She highlighted, “Whenever there is war, environment and natural resources are brutally looted.”
The Chief Minister said, “Armed conflicts lead to deforestation, increased water and air pollution, and loss of soil fertility.” She added, “Flora and fauna also bear negative impacts of the conflict.”
CM Maryam Nawaz said, “Adopting a sustainable and integrated strategy to protect the environment is need of the hour.” She added, “Natural resources must be protected to secure our future.” She underscored, “All possible steps must be taken to protect natural resources from being spoilt in war.”

Meanwhile, Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif congratulated national snooker star Muhammad Asif on becoming world snooker champion for the third time. She expressed good wishes for snooker champion Muhammad Asif. She said that Muhammad Asif by becoming World Snooker Champion for the third time elevated pride of the entire nation.
