RISALPUR: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Academy Asghar Khan held the graduation ceremony for the 150th GD(P), 96th Engineering, 106th Air Defence, 26th A&SD, 9th Logistics, and 132nd Combat Support courses.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, served as the chief guest, while Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, was also in attendance, according to an ISPR statement on Thursday.
A total of 149 cadets graduated, including 139 aviation cadets, 8 gentleman cadets, and 2 naval cadets.
The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Trophy for overall best performance in General Service Training was awarded to Aviation Cadet Sports Sergeant Imran Raza, while the Combat Support Course’s top honor went to Aviation Cadet Usman Rasheed.
The Chief of the Air Staff Trophy for excellence in the Air Defence Course was awarded to Aviation Cadet Sergeant Haseeb Abdul Malik.
Pakistan Naval Cadet Sergeant Hafiz Ali Asad received the prestigious Sword of Honour for best overall performance in the College of Aeronautical Engineering, while Aviation Cadet, Academy Under Officer Abdullah Saad Ali, earned the Sword of Honour in the College of Flying Training.
In his address, the chief guest congratulated the graduating cadets and their families. The event featured an aerial display by the “Sherdils” aerobatics team, followed by a formation flying showcase by Mirage, F-16, JF-17, and J-10C fighter jets, demonstrating the PAF’s aerial capabilities. The parade was attended by high-ranking military and civil officials, as well as the families of the graduating cadets.
