New threat from Lawrence Bishnoi gang targets Salman Khan and songwriter

MUMBAI: Bollywood star Salman Khan has once again been threatened with death, this time with an added challenge from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

According to reports, just two days after a previous threat from the Bishnoi gang, Salman Khan received another ominous message on November 7.

A spokesperson from Mumbai police confirmed that the city’s Traffic Control Room had received the message late the previous night, which named the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The Worli Police have registered the matter and initiated an investigation.

The fresh threat demanded a ransom of INR 5 crore (about $6 million) from Salman Khan, with the message also targeting a songwriter who had written a song about Lawrence Bishnoi. The threatening communication added that the gang planned to attack Khan’s supporters and dared him to protect the songwriter, should he be able to.

Following the threat, the Traffic Police promptly alerted Worli Police and provided all necessary details regarding the call. Authorities are now working to trace the origin of the message.

This latest threat comes just days after a similar warning on November 5, in which Khan was told to either apologize or pay INR 5 crore ($6 million) to ensure his safety.

In connection with the earlier threat, a 32-year-old man identified as Bheka Ram, or Vikram, from Rajasthan’s Jalore district, was arrested in Karnataka and transferred to Maharashtra police custody.

Reports indicate that Vikram, a daily wage laborer, made the threat after watching news coverage on a regional channel. He is said to have placed the call to the Mumbai Police Control Room, claiming allegiance to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
