Gwen Stefani recently revealed she wasn’t familiar with her now-husband, Blake Shelton, before they met on The Voice. In an interview with The Guardian, the No Doubt frontwoman admitted, “I never listened to country music, so while Blake was super successful, I never even knew he existed before I met him.” The pair began working together on the reality show in 2014, sparking a connection that has since blossomed into a marriage.
Now fully embracing country music, Stefani, 55, expressed her desire to create a country duet album with Shelton, 48. “I love singing with him,” she gushed. “He’s very humble and doesn’t realize how good he is. There’s something so attractive about that.” Shelton contributed to Stefani’s latest album, Bouquets, released on Friday, including a duet on the song “Purple Irises,” inspired by their shared love of gardening and the deep connection they found during the pandemic.
Stefani reflected on how their romance felt like a “second chance” following her split from ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, with whom she shares three sons. “When my family fell apart, it was a catastrophe,” she said. “But God put this other person there to love me.” The couple tied the knot in 2021 during an intimate ceremony at Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch, cementing a love story that Stefani describes as both healing and inspiring.
