Body language expert claims Harry, Meghan ‘toning down PDAs

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been making headlines with a series of solo appearances, signaling a shift in their public personas.

In recent months, the couple has increasingly been seen apart, with Meghan enjoying a night out in celebration of a friend’s business launch and Harry attending a major Canadian event.

Meghan recently let loose at a party in celebration of her friend Kadi Lee’s new haircare line, where she was seen posing for photos with friends. Just days later, Harry made a solo trip to Canada, attending the Grey Cup final in Vancouver, just months before the city co-hosts the 2025 Invictus Games.

Sources close to the couple suggest these solo outings reflect Harry’s focus on his charity work, while Meghan continues to pursue her business ventures. The pair did make a rare joint appearance, delivering a message about children’s online safety at a United Nations conference in Colombia.

Body language expert Judi James has analysed the couple’s recent appearances, noting that their relationship dynamic has shifted from the deeply interconnected “royal double act” to something more independent.

James explained: “Harry and Meghan’s relationship seems to have evolved from a totally twinned one, where their body language was confined to appearances as a matching, complimentary and very royal-looking double act, to one that resembles the shape of a letter Y; joined and twinned at the base but also separating into two individuals moving into two rather separate professional directions.”

James also noted that their once frequent public displays of affection (PDAs) have diminished.

She observed: “The newly ‘sole trader’ body language performances need to be interspersed with appearances that describe and emphasize the base of the ‘Y’. Their love story, which was once marked by constant touch and visible affection, now seems to have evolved into a more formal public portrayal.”

Despite this shift, James feels both Harry and Meghan appear content in their separate paths.

She added, “Meghan’s body language looks relaxed back to her days as an actress and celebrity. Posing with her friends she performs a ‘shoulder-climb’ pose, clinging to her friend and tilting her head against hers with a warm, bonding smile.”

Similarly, Harry’s behavior at the Grey Cup shows him in his element: “relaxed, excited, cheerful and apparently adoring the approval of the large crowd,” signaling his comfort in the spotlight.
