Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be celebrating Christmas privately at their Montecito home, marking the occasion with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. According to reports from Closer Magazine, the couple has not received an invitation to the Royal family’s traditional Christmas gathering at Sandringham, a situation that has occurred for the second consecutive year.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will instead focus on making the holiday special for their family. Meghan’s mother, Doria, will join them for the festivities. Despite being separated from the extended family in the UK, the couple is determined to ensure a joyful holiday for their children.
Additionally, it was revealed that Harry and Meghan declined an invitation to spend Christmas with Princess Diana’s family, the Spencers, at their ancestral home, Althorp.
A source close to the couple noted that this could be their last Christmas at home, which has made them even more intent on making it memorable. Though they had no expectation of being invited to Sandringham, even if an invitation had been extended, they likely would have declined.
