Megyn Kelly sparked controversy during Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again Victory Rally in Washington D.C. on Sunday, Jan. 19. Speaking at the Capitol One Arena event, Kelly criticized Jennifer Lopez, referencing the singer’s public support for Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
“Speaking of J.Lo, how happy are you that her candidate lost? It’s so delightful,” Kelly quipped, taking a dig at Lopez for endorsing the former vice president at a Harris campaign rally before the election. Kelly went on to criticize Hollywood celebrities for their political activism, suggesting they lack credibility to influence voters.
Turning her focus back to Lopez, Kelly added, “All J.Lo knows how to do is ruin marriages,” an apparent jab at Lopez’s four divorces, including her recent split from Ben Affleck. Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck in August 2024, citing irreconcilable differences.
Kelly concluded her remarks with, “Why does she have to try and ruin the country too? Goodbye, J.Lo. It didn’t work out for you.” Her comments came as Lopez and Affleck finalized their divorce settlement, marking the end of a high-profile union once dubbed a “fairy tale.”
A source recently told People that Lopez’s marriage to Affleck had become a “nightmare,” but the singer is now focused on moving forward. “She’s in a really good place and just wants to close the door on this chapter,” the insider revealed in January 2025.
