Kate Middleton Reveals Secret To Preserving Her Iconic Hair During Chemo

During a recent visit to London’s Royal Marsden Hospital, Kate Middleton shared how she maintained her signature locks while undergoing preventative chemotherapy. The Princess of Wales, who received treatment at the facility, spoke with cancer patients about her journey and methods for coping during a challenging time.

Katherine Field, an art historian and patient at the hospital, told People that Kate revealed she did not require cold cap therapy—a treatment designed to reduce hair loss during chemotherapy. “For her to lose her hair, which is so iconic, would have been awful,” Field remarked, emphasizing the admiration many have for Kate’s hair.

Field, who is undergoing cold cap therapy herself, admitted it is a difficult process but believes it’s helping. “Today there is a little bit of hair coming out, but I’m just trying to delay it,” she said. Reflecting on her conversation with Kate, Field shared, “It was like talking to a friend about a horrible time in life and finding ways to get through it. ‘Finding the new normal’ is what she said, which is absolutely true.”

The patient also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet the Princess of Wales. “It was a special moment that not many people get to have. Unfortunately, I had to get cancer to have that moment, but I’ll add it to my album for sure,” Field said, adding, “I want to remember the good, not just the bad.”

Kate’s visit highlights her ongoing dedication to supporting cancer patients and raising awareness of the challenges they face, while offering a glimpse into her own personal resilience.
