Michelle Obama Confirms Rumors About Daughter Sasha’s Future Plans

Michelle Obama recently shared exciting news about her youngest daughter, Sasha, during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. The former first lady confirmed that Sasha, 23, is pursuing further education through a post-graduate program in California, adding to the family’s pride in her accomplishments.

Sasha, who graduated from the University of Southern California in May 2023 with a degree in sociology, had sparked speculation about her career direction when her name appeared in the credits of the series Couples Therapy. While initially thought to be entering the entertainment industry like her sister Malia, Sasha’s recent return to campus raised questions, now clarified by Michelle’s update.

“They are amazing,” Michelle said when asked about her daughters. “Sasha is in school, Malia has a budding career in film. They are smart, they’re funny, they’re wise in their own ways, and I love spending time with them.” Though Michelle did not disclose what Sasha is studying, she expressed pride in both daughters’ accomplishments.

The Obamas, who largely raised Sasha and Malia in the White House, have always been candid about their parenting journey. In her memoir, Michelle reflected on the ongoing worries of parenthood, sharing anecdotes about her and Barack’s protective instincts, even as their daughters navigate adulthood in Los Angeles.

“You will still worry! Even now, my husband, the former commander-in-chief, can’t help but text cautionary news stories to our daughters,” Michelle wrote, referencing Barack’s concern for their safety in California, including earthquake preparedness.

Despite the challenges, Michelle emphasized that parenting remains one of life’s most rewarding experiences. “Caring for your kids and watching them grow is one of the most rewarding endeavors on Earth, and at the same time it can drive you nuts,” she said with humor.

With Sasha advancing her education and Malia building a career in film, the Obama sisters continue to make strides as young adults, earning admiration not just from their parents but also from those who follow their journey.
