LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday departed for Azerbaijan on a two-day official visit.
On the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will undertake a two-day official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan from February 24 to 25.
This marks Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s second visit to Azerbaijan since assuming office in March 2024. He is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and federal ministers – Jam Kamal Khan, Abdul Aleem Khan, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral meetings with the Azerbaijani President and address a business forum. Discussions will cover areas of mutual interest, including energy, trade, defence, education, and climate cooperation. Multiple memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and agreements will be signed to strengthen collaboration between the two countries.
The Prime Minister’s visit reflects Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening ties with Azerbaijan, fostering broader economic cooperation, and exploring new avenues of partnership for mutual growth and development.
